Today I’m going to show you how GS Extreme makes T-shirt screen prints because we do have a pretty wide range of customer bases. And a screen print is the basic, quality custom T-shirt we make.
From high school plays to bachelorette parties and weddings, ComiCon vendors, to actors, rock bands, employee T-shirts, we do it all.
We do some T-shirts for a band in California. We do some T-shirts for a band in Florida. We do shirts for businesses in Florida. We do businesses in Illinois here. We also have some product that we’re sending out to the military people that are stationed in New Orleans.
And so we’re trying to expand. We want to grow. We want to grow. But I think most people there’s plenty of videos on the net showing you how to do screen printing but Trevor here is the one person that’s came to our business with prior experience. And Trevor has been he’s our number one asset when it comes to comes to printing for us.
But that’s just basically putting down the under base coat and he’s flash drying it with our quartz flash dryer. And then he’ll proceed to lay the other colors on top of that and away we go we’ll have a finished product coming out the other end.
Now Trevor will be putting the first color on.
This is a four-color shirt. He did his white under the base and he’ll go around here and put the yellow on.
For people who have never seen this done, it is quite amazing the quality of the imagery that we can get doing this with these manual presses. Technology plays a big part of that.
What we do on the computer to make our separations and our screens is has really really brought the process a lot closer.
Now as we grow we really would like to incorporate some direct to garment printing and a newer more modernized automatic press but the main thing is is to win over a little more customers here and that’ll all come in time I think. I think it’ll all come in time.
And each time there he’s spinning that upper part putting a different color on.
Now, these are all done these are all done printing so we’ll send them through the conveyor dryer to cure them.
But as we’re doing that what we’ll do is we got a few little samples that we keep revisiting from some of our customers that are kind of hanging here on the wall and stuff and quite a variety quite a variety.
That’s the other thing. We do stuff for schools. We do stuff for bands businesses you know small employers.
They need the name on their shirts when they’re out working so that other people can see who they’re who they’re working for and get a phone number to call them up for landscaping or painting or something. We do that kind of stuff.
And but as they’re going through here now, what we’re doing is we’re maintaining our temperature with our line speed and our heat settings so that as these are coming through here we’re getting a proper heat here. We’re getting a proper temperature so that we’ll cure them out and they’ll hold up over time. And everybody wants their T-shirts to last.
